One of the nice things about major metro areas is the abundance of parks and open spaces. Along with that comes lots and lots of small and not so small winged and furry creatures. Another great thing is they are accustomed to the sights and sounds of cars.A slow roll through most parks and undeveloped areas can present some interesting opportunities.
If you are a regular to these areas you may even pick up on some patterns or favorite feeding areas for birds and deer. In one area I have people regularly drop off seed and fruit which attracts both deer and birds to an area very near the road.
There is also a sizable deer population in most areas. While they are a but cautious if you know where they hang out and feed and when they are most likely to be about you can get some nice shots without having to get out of your vehicle. Cheating? Maybe. A shot is a shot though and without good composition, lighting and technique it's just a snapshot right.
