Two art shows six days apart?

What was I thinking? The first is April 9th at a brand new gallery in Bay View. A week later I'll be participating in Gallery Night in the Third Ward in Milwaukee. Here is the info on the first.

Nice new snow.

This time of year is always a conflict for me. My other business as a landscape architect keeps me busy as spring approaches so nice days like this I have to juggle both jobs. The one I love and the one that pays the bills. ....... I can work at night.

Momentum

I just realized that it's been a while since I posted here. Since the show in January I've taken a big spatula and flipped my photo business upside down and changed, or rather evolved my objectives. I've decided that rather than being a "nature photographer" I'm just a "photographer". A good friend of mine in the biz called me a "shooter". High praise.

As a result of the reorganization I'm now focussing on all aspects of photography. During the past year I've shot several events and loved it. So now I'm going to continue to focus energy on exposure through gallery exhibits as I have been but also to pursue work as an event photographer, wedding photographer and whatever else happens my way.

I realized that I just love shooting, no matter what the subject matter.

This being said over the past three months I have gotten some much appreciated exposure, some awesome shooting assignments and the support of some very good people.

Stay tuned.

New Slide Show

Had a touch of the swine flu this week so I decided to try a new project. I've always wanted to put together slide shows on Youtube so I gave it a go. I love the results. Not bad for my first try. I love it and I hope you do too.

'tween seasons

Fall is gone and winter is not quite here. Now what? I'm planning on an indoor cut flower studio to keep me occupied.

Look for one thing, find another.

I headed to one of my favorite botanical gardens to clear my head after a long day. I had a few things in my mind to shoot but the wind wasn't cooperating and the irrigation system was on . On the way out I noticed a Hybiscus in a pot near the entry gate.
